Happy Friday!

Happy Friday!!

Quick check in, how are your resolutions/goals/achievements going? I hope you're all still brimming with motivation and hitting it 110%!

One of my own personal goals this year is to work on my blog, and one feature I am introducing this year is a weekly personal progress post. In this post I will have 3 things, any progress (or negative progress made), what I'm eating and what I'm doing.

Well folks.....welcome to that post!!!

What I'm doing.

I get a lot of questions asked about how I lost the weight. It's hard to answer that because the answer is both simple, and complicated. The one thing I have consistently done though is use Beachbody products. That's where most of my progress has happened. When I had a brief love affair with a local gym, I actually gained weight and lost a lot of momentum. The reasons behind this are great, and maybe I'll post a blog one day on why I am so anti-gym. Didn't work for me, doesn't mean it wont work for you. Which is what makes it complicated.

So since I'm all about the 'New Year, new you' mentality, and my 90 days with my first round of Les Mills Pump is up, I decided to make a new Hybrid program for myself. And this is what I'm doing :D

Turbo Fire + Les Mills Pump!!!

It will work well because I can get sufficient cardio in from the TF program, along with interval-style training but will also be getting the resistance training I love so very, very much from LMP! I am pretty excited over it, took two of my 3 favorite programs and made them into one! And these two even have some similarities that I love. The style of the class, with the instructor(s) on a stage and then a room full of people working out below and they both have awesome, specially mixed music to go with the movements.

Thanks to the awesome cold I had I just started this mash up yesterday with LMP Challenge. Feels nice to be up and moving again!
What I'm eating.

And for the fun part of this blog!! I started the Paleo diet this week, finally going at it 100% as opposed to the past month where I've eaten probably 60/40 Paleo. It has kind of morphed into the Whole30 challenge, which eliminates a little bit more from my diet, but it's only this strict for 30 days. Let me tell you, the cravings!!!! Oh my gosh, I would've killed for a chocolate bar last night. Seriously. I've added a layer to it by enforcing a rule that I no longer eat past 7 at night. Wow! It's going to be hard. But, it'll be worth it.

So what I am specifically eating this week, mostly leftovers. Lots of ham and chicken. And of course my three favorite foods lately, turkey suasage, turkey bacon and eggs!!! Please vegetables, mostly kale, spinach and asparagus.

Breakfasts:

Kale topped with two sausage patties and an egg
An egg sitting on sweet potato and ham 'hash'

Lunch & Dinner:

Salmon & asparagus with lemon for drizzling and 'desert' (I love lemons!)

Leftovers salad. Some chicken, tomatoes, banana peppers, olives and salsa on top of a bed of kale

Another leftovers salad. This time with pork tenderloin (and the Tbacon it had been wrapped in)
Sweet peppers, banana peppers and fresh baby spinach.
Take note of the giant mug? That's filled with water. I drink through at least 3, if not more of those a day!!

That's all I've got for you this week. It's surprisingly difficult to remember to snap shot my food before I devour it. I'm sure it has something to do with having to get food ready for everyone else as well, and then salivating because my plate looks soooooo yummy!

I don't have any recipes this week because I didn't use any!! Everything I made was basically a cook the meat and then cook some veggies experiment. I even played around with the ham by covering it with pineapple rings and cooking it in this big stoneware bowl thing I have in the oven. Obviously my secret to healthy eating is keeping it simple. It's why I love veggies. Lots of flavors, very little prep and cook time involved!!

Next week I will work on getting snack pictures as well. Most snacks this week were a banana or an apple, hardly photo worthy!

My Progress!

Despite not getting to workout (like at all), I actually did end up losing 2 pounds this week! Maybe there is something to this caveman eating stuff? I'm trying not to get too excited though because I *know* that the scale isn't giving me the true story, I don't know if  I lost weight from fat, water or (hopefully not) muscle loss but still, two pounds is two pounds and I am celebrating that fact!

Now if you'll excuse me...I have a hot date with some TurboFire!!!
